Sicilian, born in '96 and transfeminist activist, follows the call of the visual arts and graduates with top marks in Art and Photography. She continues to pursue photographic and documentary maturity with a mster degree at the Université Grenoble Alpes (France) in Film Studies, during which she collaborates with the magazine Seul Le Cinéma.
She makes Histoire(s) sans voix (2020, 10'30'', found footage) with Mehdi Ben Rejeb, in collaboration with the Cinémathèque des Pays de Savoie et de l'Ain. A film that analyzes the too often silent stories of violence against women by remaking home movies.
She then made Mots de ventre (2020, 9'32'', found footage), under the supervision of Yolande Zauberman, an award-winning French director and screenwriter.
In that period, the third photographic series took shape, after Cliché binaire and Microscopie, Rêveries. Portrait du sommeil: a dreamlike reportage that captures the banlieu grenobloise with anesthetized eyes that are reluctant to see the light, in the deep and contrasting black and white that characterizes much of Marta's serial photographic production.
Back in Sicily, in Pozzallo, with the belief that the future of art and storytelling must dialogue with the roots, today she continues to work on new personal photographic and cinematographic projects while collaborating with photographers and videomakers from Ragusa and Syracuse.
In addition to creating photographic and video works with a documentary connotation, she declines the peculiarities of the documentary and the real in commercial video, to validate the authenticity and uniqueness of a professional reality to be told. She also puts the sensitivity acquired in reportage and portraiture at the disposal of product, advertising and fashion photography, events and ceremonies, of capturing ideas, moments, details.
